How Tellaris works

A living model of your population and place: every resident, every neighbourhood, projected forward, so you can test decisions before you make them.

Four steps

From every resident to the right decision

Each step is transparent, so the result can be checked, questioned and repeated.

01

Build the population

We combine real-world data, from the Census and population projections to NHS activity and local plans, to model every resident: age, household, health conditions and circumstances. The residents in the model are synthetic: they match your real population statistically, but none is a copy of a real person.

02

Project it forward

Ten to twenty years of births, deaths, migration, ageing, new housing and changing health needs, so you can see where pressure will fall and when.

03

Test the options

Add a health centre, change a service, launch a prevention programme or plan a new development, each compared with doing nothing.

04

Choose and explain

The effect on demand, access, cost and value, with ranges and who gains, ready for board papers, business cases and consultations. The decision stays yours, and you can show how you reached it.

The scenario workbench

One place to explore, compare and decide

Maps by neighbourhood, scenarios side by side, and answers to plain-English questions, designed for planners, analysts and boards alike.

Our data

Built on real-world data

Each model is calibrated to the area it serves, so the results reflect what actually happens there.

National

Published data

The Census and population projections, the English Indices of Deprivation, public health profiles and published NHS data, for every area in England.

Health and care

Your activity data

GP, community, hospital and social care activity, analysed under agreement inside your own secure environment. Only summary tables, with small numbers suppressed, come out to calibrate the model.

Place

Local plans and context

Housing trajectories, local plans, transport networks and estates, so the model knows where homes, people and services will be.

We calibrate and test each model against past activity in your area before you rely on it.

Trust and governance

Designed to be trusted with public decisions

Your data stays where it is

Patient-level data is analysed inside your own environment. Only summary tables come out, and results are reported only for groups large enough to protect privacy.

Your data stays yours

Used only under agreement, for the purpose agreed, with you in control throughout.

Transparent assumptions

Every scenario records its assumptions and data, so results can be checked and repeated.

Secure and UK hosted

Designed to NHS and public sector data security standards. Read about data security
